Congrats to all for sweeping the general election in Moon Township! And it wasn’t even close!
Township municipal positions:
John Wink - Tax Collector
Michael Dandrea - Auditor
David Bachman - Supervisor
Allan Bross - Supervisor
Perry Miller - Constable
These results maintain Republican dominance of the township and its management. For example, Four of Five Supervisors are Republican and work every day to do what right for the future of Moon and our citizens.
School Board:
Kate Wise
Amy Bundy Stuart
Patrick Callahan
Bill Kammerer
Crystal Barr
In one election, we flipped the school board from nine Democrats to a Republican majority with 5 seats. With another current board member committed to voting with us, we will have a 6-3 majority and bring reasonable, rational oversight back to this important body.
Judge of Elections - only Republicans won (no dems):
Clifford Lau - Dist 2
Michael Dandrea - Dist 4
Jeffrey Trimber - Dist 5
Ron DiCicco - Dist 7
Robert Richard - Dist 11
District 1 County Council - we delivered a Moon majority for Joe Wise, but our support was not equaled in other parts of his district and he lost by 600 votes out of the 25,000 cast for the position.
State level - we contributed to getting all 4 Republican judges elected, with the hope that this is the beginning of the end of the bias coming from these courts.
While Moon delivered for our preferred county judges, only one, Bruce Beemer was successful county wide. The sole registered Republican, Joseph Patrick Murphy, did not win a seat.
I believe the above success can be attributed to three main reasons:
Candidates - We had and recruited an amazing group of individuals to run for these positions. In addition to being highly qualified and well known in the community, they worked tirelessly to get their names out and meet the electorate. As we celebrate this achievement, we need to be recruiting and vetting more Moon Republicans to fill these and other roles into the future.
Getting the Republican vote out - This is a result of the hard work of the committee and the candidates to ensure our message got out to the community and our party members came out to vote. As an example of how well we did this year, in 2017, there were ~3,600 votes cast for each of the two Moon Supervisor positions (when John Hertzer won by 2 votes). In 2021, there were 6,000 votes for each of the two supervisor slots - and most of the voter growth was republican as reflected in the results - Allan and David won by ~700 votes.
Committee engagement - It has been awesome to see the committee grow in size, commitment and energy. Your engagement personally, on social media, at meetings and throughout the community have elevated the party in Moon. Yesterday, for example, we had multiple volunteers at every poll every hour - including Crescent! That is an incredible amount of dedication and energy that demonstrated to the community our unity as a party.
So again - Congratulations to everyone. You all did a great job ….. and delivered.
